Kansas Star Chef Takes Home Best Dish Award at Great Chefs of the Midwest Fundraiser Event

Recently, Kansas Star Casino’s Chef Jen Reifschneider represented Woodfire Grille at Great Chefs of the Midwest. The seventh annual fundraiser event showcased local chefs and restaurants who competed for a chance at the Best Dish and People’s Choice awards.
Great Chefs of the Midwest is hosted by the local chapter of
the National
Kidney Foundation which helps families facing kidney disease at every step
of their journey. The event is spearheaded by an incredibly talented local
chef, co-chair and kidney recipient, Josh Rathbun, who is passionate about this
cause. Judges for the event included Fert the Foodie, a local food blogger; Ross
Janssen, KWCH Chief Meteorologist; Joyce Davis, a teen TikTok star; and Ashley
Abedini, Wichita Food + Biz Hype Girl.
During the event, guests mingled and bid on auction packages
while enjoying mouthwatering creations from Wichita’s best chefs. Chef Jen took
home the Best Dish Award for her Lobster Corn Dogs.
“It's incredibly humbling and inspiring to see firsthand the impact the fundraiser has on those suffering from kidney failure and their families,” said Jen. “It’s very special and gratifying to be invited to be a part of this event, even in such a small way.”
The Great Chefs of the Midwest is committed to enhancing the
